As winter approaches, the flu is bound to hit us! High temperatures, achy-shaky bodies, bone-rattling coughs and green galore. Yuck. Being so-sick-your-world-stops stinks, so here is a Cold & Flu Fighting Simmer Pot. Hopefully the flu won’t visit your home, but if it does, you will want to be prepared.
Why Cold and Flu Fighting Simmer Pot?
A simmer pot on the stove releases moisture into the air, which can relieve coughing and congestion. Citrus, clove, rosemary, cinnamon and eucalyptus are an unstoppable germ-fighting team, and are often found together in essential oil blends.
Ingredients and Directions:
Combine 1 liter of water, 5 orange slices, 1 tbsp whole cloves, 1 tsp dried rosemary, 2 cinnamon sticks, and 3 drops of eucalyptus essential oil in a large pot. Place on a wood stove, or simmer on your stovetop. Breathe deep (if you can!) and enjoy the fragrant steam. In my opinion, this stovetop potpourri loosens phlegm, purifies the air, and improves health and wellness.
Stay healthy!
