Mom Reveals Easy Hack to Ease a Teething Baby & All You Need is Water

Teething is an inevitable part of your baby’s development — and it can be a nerve-wracking time for parents as their little ones struggle through cutting those first few teeth. For some teething can be distressing, but there are ways to make it easier for them. However, every baby is different, and you may have to try a few different things until you find something that works for your baby.

Mom Reveals Easy Hack to Ease a Teething Baby & All You Need is Water

When their babies are sad, upset, or in pain, moms try any solution they can to make things right – and the cheaper the fix, the better. After one mom shared a simple hack for her teething baby, parents flooded the comments section to share the bizarre tactics that worked for their own kids.

Estera Pawlak is the mom of seven-month-old Remi. Since her daughter's teeth are coming in, Pawlak decided to test a viral hack meant to soothe

"teething monsters."
"We have a teething grumpy baby, so I was interested to see if this hack worked," Pawlak wrote.

The easy hack doesn't require any fancy ingredients – just a clean baby bottle and a little bit of water. Pawlak took one of Remi's bottles and poured in a few ounces of filtered water.

She didn't fill the bottle but added just enough water to fill up the bottle's nipple. Then, she turned the whole bottle upside-down and froze it. When she opened the freezer, Pawlak had an

"ice pacifier"

to soothe her baby's sore gums. To keep the cold bottle from being uncomfortable on Remi's little hands, Pawlak tucked it into a piece of fabric – either a baby stocking cap or a clean sock would work as a barrier.

A delighted Remi took the bottle and began eagerly exploring the new temperature and texture.

"Kept her entertained for about 10 minutes," Pawlak wrote, declaring the hack a win.

One commenter who worked in childcare said that frozen bottles, pacifiers, and toys are their go-to solution for teething tots.

"We put EVERYTHING we can find in the freezer," they wrote. "Twelve babies teething at the same time, desperate times. Only thing my son accepted when teething was sliced, frozen banana," another mom shared. "Worked wonders." "Mom of five here. The best teething hack I learned was wet a washcloth and freeze it," one woman chimed in. "It soothes sore gums, and the grain of the cloths help the teeth cut." More parents chimed in with the frozen goods they let their kids gnaw on while teething: frozen bagels, waffles, and even cucumbers made the list.

Pawlak thanked everyone for their suggestions and promised to try them – only if Remi tired of her frozen bottle, of course.
