Nursing Mamma's Solution to Low Breast Milk Supply

You are not alone if you're breastfeeding and worried about whether you're producing enough milk to feed your new-born. Many people worry about their breast milk supply. After all, you can't see how much breast milk your body is making, and you can't see how much your little one is drinking the same way you can with bottle feeding.

But here's some good news: Most breastfeeding moms can make enough breast milk for their babies. True low supply is believed to affect only 10 to 15 percent of breastfeeding parents.

Sometimes, the milk supply may be adequate but other issues are at play (like colic or a growth spurt) that may prompt parents to question whether their baby is getting enough milk. When low supply does occur, in most cases, it's temporary because there are things you can do to bring up your supply.

Founder and owner of Nursing Mamma, Tracy Loumeau went through the similar situation, where she had low breast milk supply - and that led to the birth of her business – a solution to many.

“I am a mom of two beautiful boys, a very active 5-year-old, and a busy little baby. I had no problems breastfeeding my 5-year-old, Jordan. I had a never-ending supply of breastmilk. However, when falling pregnant with my second, Jaxon, I never thought I would have a problem with my breastmilk supply,” says Tracy.

Sharing her story, Tracy says when Jaxon was a fresh 10 days old and was going through a cluster feed with a growth spurt, her breastmilk supply took a major dip.

“After having a crazy freak out and frantically scrolling through the internet to find ways of increasing my milk supply, I came across online stores selling lactation cookies, but they were all overseas. So, I did some research and made myself a batch. One Boobie Biscuit later, I managed to do a feed and still express. From that experience, and out of love for my babies, Nursing Mamma was born,” shares Tracy.
